Reminders

  • Students are invited to play at the creative playground after school if they are being supervised by an adult. If a child is not with an adult, they need to go home and check in before they come back to the school.
  • We have installed “No Parking Signs” in the parking lot by the fence and the closed garbage bin area. We missed our garbage pick-up this week because 2 vehicles were parked there at 4:45pm. CBE service vehicles use that area as needed and often need to park in the evening hours.
  • Please do not park in the busing zone in front of the school.

An Amazing Terry Fox Run

  • We had a fabulous school run on Friday morning, running for Terry Fox and families and friends affected by cancer. Our students were amazing, running hard around the field and setting their personal best! What a treat to come together for our first assembly and school-wide event
  • To see us in action be sure to follow us on  Instagram- drfredamillerschoolcbe

Friday September 22 is a Non-Instructional Day.

  • No school for students
  • Staff will be working together to synthesize our student data, develop a school-wide inquiry question and utilize new curriculum materials.

In September 2023, students across Alberta will learn from finalized curriculum in:

  • K–3 Science
  • K–6 English Language Arts and Literature
  • K–6 Mathematics
  • K–6 Physical Education and Wellness

Lost and Found

We already have more than 40 lost and found items. We will post a photo each week so you can recover items that are placed in our lost and found. We sort through items at the end of a 2-month cycle and donating the rest to charityPlease check out the collection at our Meet the Teacher Open House on Thursday.

School Council and SES (School Enrichment Society) - Upcoming Meetings

We are very grateful for parents who are able to attend our monthly meetings to help support our students. We meet once a month for 1.5 hours where we discuss programming and school events and as a group, we make recommendations and decisions to enhance school experiences.

  • September 28 is our first School Council meeting and AGM. We will elect some new executive members for the upcoming year. This meeting is followed by the School Enrichment Society Meeting (SES) meeting, which is the fundraising parent organization that supports our students at Dr. Freda Miller School.
  • October 18 is our AGM for our SES Meeting. We will elect some new executive members for the upcoming year.
