The CBE Dates of Significance Events Calendar
Dear Families,
The students are doing well settling into routines. We saw so much learning this week and were thrilled with the weather inviting us to venture onto the land. We have discussed wasp safety with all the students and shared information about how to avoid wasps and what to do if they are stung.
A reminder to families if your child uses an EpiPen, please send a Student Health Form and notify the teacher asap.
Running Shoes and Outdoor Shoes
Hooray - almost all students have a change of shoes. A reminder that we go to the pond and Fish Creek Provincial Park regularly. Students need sturdy walking shoes for outdoor wear.
Busing Zones and Crosswalk Safety
- Thank you for your patience after school with the buses. We know it is tight to get around, so we are working with the drivers to ensure there is space to pass.
- With the new Pedestrian sign in the crosswalk, please remember not to park too close to the crosswalk or traffic heading north along Everbrook Drive will not be able to get by.
- Remember that you can always utilize the Fish Creek Prov. Park - Marshall Springs Parking area as a place to park with easy walking access to the school.
Terry Fox Run - October 4 - Save the Date!
We will be connecting with parents at the first School Council Meeting to talk about parent involvement and setting a fundraising target for this year’s Terry Fox Run. We are having our school Terry Fox run on Friday October 4 (late morning). Details to follow!
Birthday Book Reminder
For students celebrating a birthday, we invite students to donate a “birthday” book to our Learning Commons that we affectionately call “The Den”. Students bring a new book to school that their teacher will read in class on their birthday and then catalogued as part of our library collection. We will add a special bookplate inside the cover with the student’s name and the birthday they are honoring. If your child has a birthday in July or August or during a break, they can bring in a book at any time to celebrate their special day.
Outdoor Gear Lending Library
- We have set up a small “clothing lending library” for our students. If you have gently used winter boots, rain boots, coats or sweatpants that your child has outgrown, we are happy to accept a donation!
- A Gear Guide is posted on our website showing clothing options for outdoor learning
School Council and SES Meeting - Save the Date!
