Thank you to our Volunteers!
Thank You Volunteers! We want to send a special shout out to our volunteers this year who made our experiences so memorable. We are very lucky to have parent support so that we can go on field trips and have the benefits of fundraising activities that bring in technology, books, inline skating, theatre performances and community building events like our Spring Dance!
Thank you to all parents who volunteered their time on offsite trips, in our classrooms and for SES fundraisers and for hot lunch days! We couldn't do it without you!
Farewells and Staffing for 2024 – 2025
We are so grateful to have such a talented staff! They work collaboratively on behalf of all families, share a passion and joy for working with children.
Our enrolment continues to fluctuate as families move in and out of our catchment area. Typically, we see a significant influx of students registering in August, and as such we will be waiting to determine school organization for the next school year, at the end of August. We will be sharing our school organization with families in the last week of August once we know how many students are enrolled in each grade.
All schools change and while we say farewell each year to staff, the impact of their presence stays with us over time. We want to thank the following staff for their contributions and wish them all the best on their new journey.
- Covering maternity leaves this year were Ms. Schnell, Ms. Kuipers and Ms. Fraser. We say farewell and know they will continue to be great teachers wherever they are teaching next year!
- Mrs. Smith will not be returning to Dr. Freda Miller School in the fall as she has accepted a position at a middle school. We thank her for 3 years at Dr. Freda Miller School. In her position we are welcoming Ms. McKay.
- Mrs. Watson will be relocating to Edmonton, and we wish her and her family all the best.
- Mrs. Hirst, our temporary office assistant, and Ms. Szabo, one of our lunch supervisors, have accepted postings at other schools.
- Ms. Mittal, who provided literacy and numeracy intervention support since January, said her farewells last Friday. We wish her well next year as well.
- We also have several classroom support staff who are leaving us. Ms. Campbell and Ms. Nancoo were in temporary support roles and Ms. DaCosta will be sharing her talents with the youngest of learners in a new setting next year.
Sending our best wishes to everyone!
