We’re proud of our school and like to share our spirit.

We Gather to Learn and Connect in Many Ways!

Our District

Our work is guided by our Education Plan, which connects each CBE employee to student success. We must create an environment where each student can become an engaged learner, prepared for success in life, work and future learning.

We’re all committed to success for every student.

Our Mission

Each student in keeping with their individual abilities and gifts, will complete high school with a foundation of learning necessary to thrive in life, work and continued learning.

Our Values

Students come first

Learning in our central purpose

Public education serves the common good

We are proud of the many opportunities that support community and school spirit. Students participate in the Terry Fox Run, Remembrance Day Program, Art Walk, Food Bank Collection, Winter Concert, Random Acts of Kindness, Assemblies, Pink Shirt Day, Inline Skating, Evergreen Theatre, Winter and Summer Solstice Activities & Indigenous People's Day, Sport's Day and the Grade 5 Farewell.

Students met regularly with their buddies, engage in land based learning with students from other classes and participate in offsite activities linked to curriculum such as The Wilder Institute/ Calgary Zoo, Telus Sparks and Nose Hill Park. Students in kindergarten bring in guest artists as their day is not long enough to be bused to offsite activities.

We were pleased to be partnering again this year with Friends of Fish Creek. This partnership supports staff professional development, guest speakers and projects designed to help students learn about the stewardship of the park.

The school council will host a Halloween Dance and Spring Dance for families and will run fun lunches starting in October.

Tipi Teachings, A Week of Wonder!

April 14-18, 2023

What an incredible week it was for our community with the raising of the Tipi, learning from the Starlight Family from the Tsuut’ina Nation in the spring of 2023. It was a certainly a week of care, compassion, awe and wonder for us too!
