Staffing Update

We wanted to let families know that Mr. Demman is away on leave and will not be back returning this school year. In his role, we have hired Ms. Glenda MacLeod who is a music specialist and well known in the city and the province for her expertise in African drumming and dancing. Ms. MacLeod will be doing a drumming residency during her time at the school, where all the children will receive drumming lessons during their OLA time. Ms. Gillott taught with Ms. MacLeod and is glad she can join us in May and June.

Thank you to our School Council, SES and families for the treats!

Thank you to the many people this week who sent in goodies and messages to celebrate teacher appreciation week. We are all grateful for our strong and caring community and proud to be part of a great school community!

A Pond Update

One of the fences is down... we are watching and waiting and hoping for rain!

Outdoor Learning

We have been getting snippets of some of the learning our teachers are doing at the National Outdoor Learning Conference in Banff.

“It’s been fantastic learning from outdoor learning colleagues from across Canada and being inspired to continue our work with students at Dr. Freda Miller School. We are excited to share new ideas and move our practice forward.”  ~ Mrs. Ramsay

On the website this week with the Weekly Update, we are featuring art from a grade 4 student.
